About our concrete contractor team in Elko

Why I build concrete the way I do

Before I started Elko Concrete, I spent years doing upkeep for a property management company, patching cracked walks, broken steps and sunken slabs between tenants. That's where I learned concrete, mostly by seeing all the ways it fails. A slab poured on dirt that was only raked level settles right along with that dirt, and a patio that tips toward the house sends every storm straight at your wall.

I started this business in 2023 to build it right the first time instead of fixing it later. Elko's residential code puts the frost line at no less than 30 inches below finished grade, so the ground under your work matters here as much as the finish on top. Homeowners, landlords and property managers around Elko call us when they want someone who'll talk the job through, and believe me, I'm happy to tell you why that old slab cracked.

What you can count on when we take your job

  • You deal with me from the estimate to the pour

I come out to look at every job, write the estimate myself and stay on site with our crew while the work gets done. The person answering your questions is the one who walked your yard, so nothing gets lost between what we talked about and what we pour.

  • You hear every choice before you sign

We walk you through the mix, what goes under the slab and the control joints, the grooves we cut on purpose so the concrete cracks along a straight line instead of wherever it pleases. If a simpler option will do the job we'll say so, and if it won't, we'll tell you that just as plainly.

  • The parts you can't see get real attention

Your subgrade, the ground the slab sits on, gets dug out and packed instead of raked flat, and we check where the water runs before a single form goes in. When a budget gets tight, a fancier finish can wait, but a weak base can't, because you can't fix it later without breaking out the slab.

Our licenses and what they mean for your job

  • Nevada contractor's license

In Elko, the city will only issue a building permit to a contractor who holds a state contractor's license in the right classification, and the state wants the person qualifying that license to have at least four years in the trade within the past 15. We're fully licensed and insured.

  • City of Elko business license

Contractors get their state licensing first and then the city's business license, and the city wants both before it hands over a permit. When your job calls for one, we look into it during the estimate, pull it ourselves and keep you posted on where things stand with the office that covers your property.
